General:
The MD indexer design incorporates the highest degree of application versatility available today. The integral center post with stationary dial plate is ideal for centrally mounting robots and other pick-and-place type actuators. The low-profile design of the housing makes it ideal for applications where there is a space constraint, and the machined housing surfaces provide universal mounting on any of the five sides. The large pitch diameter of the cam followers allow for superior accuracy and stability at a greater radius from the from the center of the dial.
Size & Range
The Md series indexer is offered in three sizes, with thru hole dimensions ranging from 5 inches up to 9.25 inches in diameter. The low-profile height of these units ranges from 6.750 inches to 9.375 inches. These indexers are available in up to 24 stations in a type one cam, allowing for even better accuracy. Special indexing motion sequences are available upon request.
Construction:
The heart of the MD series index drive is our large-diameter barrel cam. This cam is machined from the highest quality steel, CNC profile-ground, and hardened for outstanding durability and accuracy. This barrel cam is manufactured with preload to provide a fixed center distance between the input and output.
