BT Translator Introduction:
The Stelron BT Translators are typically used as walking beam, pick & place and velocity matching drives. The two axes, individually controlled by a separate cam track, combined with precise cam control of the output motion results in the following:

Size & Range
The BT series Translator is offered in eight sizes with standard strokes of up to 12″ in the “X” axis and 5″ in the “Y” axis.
The engineering and example guide section contains the necessary information to determine the proper size and cam requirements for most applications. Loads of up to 250 pounds are possible. Speed, strokes & cam timing can have a marked effect on both the dynamic loads generated and the capacity of the Translator. Standard accuracy for all Translators is +/-.003″ for the “X” and +/-.005″ for the “Y” axis at the tooling plate.
Repeatability for all Translators is +/-.002″ for the “X” axis and +/-.005″ for the “Y” axis at the tooling plate.
The “Box Design” of the external housing of the BT series Translator provides a rigid enclosure and permits mounting from any of the 6 sides. Stelron Translators utilize large diameter cams for low wear and maximum motion flexibility. All Translator cams are hardened and ground. The “X” cam is directly engaged by a cam follower attached to the main carriage block. The “Y” axis operates through a bell crank and yoke mechanism. The carriage block and “Y” axis linear guide rods are supported by high quality linear ball bushing’s. Stelron Translators feature all rolling contact throughout the mechanism and incorporate the latest advances in linear and rotary bearing design.
